Police And Thieves

"The DS version of Scotland Yard ought to be nailed into the brain of anyone ever considering bringing a boardgame to a games machine, because it’s a textbook example of how to do it right."

This is a piece originally written for the sadly now-deceased Snappy Gamer, then hugely expanded as a subscriber-only feature for WoS, and now free to read in full. It's an in-depth look at the hugely-successful yet little-known boardgame Scotland Yard, and the numerous attempts that have been made over the last 20 years to bring it to home videogaming formats, culminating in a superb DS version that as far as I know has still only ever been released in Germany, despite already having full English text.

It's a tragic waste, and if you don't happen to live in Germany WoSblog has no compunction at all about recommending that you go and download a copy for a DS flashcart like the TTDS or R4, because it's probably not going to suddenly appear now.
