How all men's food should look

If you're a member of WoSblog's highly secretive Alert Viewers Society, you might recall that WoSblog recently visited the intriguing city of Gloucester, and in passing mentioned the presence  – on the menu of the Varsity Bar pub chain – of an item by the name of the Dirty Dog's Dinner.

It didn't seem fair, though, that WoSblog's beloved viewers should be expected to simply picture it in their minds. So here it is.

National Festival Of Bargains

Following a tip-off from alert WoSblog viewer "JBR", I popped down to my local branch of Morrisons this morning in a sceptical frame of mind. The word on the street was that from today until March 7th, the supermarket chain was inexplicably offering a £5 discount on £15 (and £25) iTunes cards. But obviously that couldn't be right – nobody just gives away what's effectively free money, do they?

Why pound shops are the saviours of civilisation

As happens from time to time, WoSblog spent the weekend just past on Snack Patrol. As the name implies, Snack Patrol is a semi-regular event in which novelty, innovation and excitement in the world of snack treats is sought out and experimental tastings conducted.

Now, it’s easy to achieve success in this field if one is possessed of limitless wealth (go to Cybercandy in London and watch your wallet empty at breathtaking speed in return for unquestionable invention but remarkably little mass), but for those of us not the beneficiaries of offshore trust funds, the most rewarding destination is undoubtedly the pound shop.
